7. To consider Chief Executive’s Report on Part 8 planning in respect of proposed development at Athlone Castle, Saint Peter's Terrace and Bigmeadow, Athlone, Co. Cllr Ken Glynn: “That Westmeath County Council immediately finds a solution to resolve the public lighting crisis which is escalating out of control in many residential areas”.

Cllr Denis Leonard:
"That Westmeath County Council would seek to complete a Business Case for the Reopening of Killucan Station by seeking to cost and set aside funding in the budget for same to be prepared in conjunction and in cooperation with Irish Rail in light of the recent pre-feasibility study (commissioned by Irish Rail at our request) that highlighted 156-160 boardings a day at the station from a narrow geographic area that did not include many of the communities that would avail of the service so that Westmeath can begins to avail of the €24 billion transport fund announced by government recently."
