I should be obliged if you would arrange to attend the January Monthly Meeting of Westmeath County Council, to be held on Monday next, 27 January 2025 immediately upon the rising of the Finance Committee Meeting or at 3.00 p.m., in the Council Chamber, Áras an Chontae, Mullingar by Hybrid Meeting to consider the items set out on the Agenda hereunder.

11. Motions:

Cllr Liam McDaniel: “That the executive of Westmeath County Council immediately reviews the incorrect zoning of a property (folio WH10501) at Tullamore Road, Kilbeggan. This property (approx. 1 ha) is zoned Sporting and Recreational in the current 2021 to 2027 County Development Plan. This is an error as the property was previously zoned Residential in the 2008-2014 County Development Plan and was then de-zoned in the 2014-2020 County Development Plan as it was deemed to be outside the settlement boundary for Kilbeggan. The property is not and was never a Sporting and Recreational facility, although in earlier years a Golf Driving Range did operate there as a business venture. I therefore ask again that the zoning of this property be reviewed, in order to correct this anomaly and ensure that a more appropriate zoning be assigned to it.”

Cllr Tom Farrell: “To ask Westmeath County Council to look at extending their Public Liability Insurance to registered Tidy Town groups in County Westmeath as soon as possible.”

(ii) Proposal from Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District for An Address of Recognition for the Mullingar First Responders.
