11. Motions:

Cllr Andrew Duncan: “To request Westmeath County Council to pause the Active Travel Programme in the county and request the Minister of Transport to carry out an urgent review of the scope and long-term objectives of same”.

 

12. Recommendation(s) from Corporate Policy Group

(i) That an address of recognition be granted to Colaiste Mhuire, Mullingar by the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad to mark their success in winning the College’s Senior Football ‘A’ Leinster Championship on Saturday 8th February 2025, as resolved by the MKMD Elected Members at their February 2025 Meeting.

 

(ii) That each Municipal District would nominate a Member to sit on the Housing Estate Naming Committee

 

13. To receive reports and recommendations from SPC Chairpersons:

(i) Recommendation from the Chairperson of Housing, Community, Recreation & Culture SPC - to approve the “Not Around Us” policy.

 (ii) Recommendation from Chair of the Economic Development Enterprise, Agriculture and Tourism SPC in respect of funding proposals from the Economic Development and Promotion Fund:

a. Visit Westmeath Radio Advertising Campaign Undertaken in Summer 2024: €16,000.

b. Athlone Chamber of Commerce, Business Phone Watch Information Event: €500.

c. National Famine Way Communications and Engagement Coordinator / Manager (contribution) €16,561 per year for the coming 3 years (Co funded through equal contribution from each by the 7 Local Authorities along the Royal Canal)

d. Destination Athlone: Retail Marketing Promotion Christmas 2024 campaign - €10,000.

e. Athlone Family Resource Centre towards Switching on Christmas Lights event 2024: €2,500.
