I should be obliged if you would arrange to attend the July Monthly Meeting of Westmeath County Council, to be held on Monday next, 24 July 2023, to commence immediately following the conclusion of the Finance Committee Meeting, and no later than 3 p.m., in the Council Chamber, Áras an Chontae, Mullingar by Hybrid Meeting to consider the items set out on the Agenda hereunder.

(i)    Proposed lease of former Moate Fire Station to Moate Town Team (to supersede proposed licence to Moate Tidy Towns approved at meeting of 26th February 2018), in accordance with the terms of Section 183 Notice of the Local Government Act 2001 circulated within the specified period.

6.    To Consider Chief Executives Report on Part 8 Planning in respect of an  Active Travel Scheme consisting of Footpath and Cycle path Works and other associated works at the Ardmore Road, Mullingar, Co Westmeath (Phase 3)

7.    To Consider Chief Executives Report on Part 8 Planning in respect of Public Realm Enhancement and Associated Works within an area encompassing c.0.0425ha immediately to the north of Athlone Castle (a National Monument and protected structure – reference Number RPS 070) and within an Architectural Conservation Area (Athlone Town) in Athlone, Co. Westmeath

8.    To receive update from Chairperson of Fleadh Executive Committee re Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023

9.    Recommendation(s) from Corporate Policy Group:

1.    That Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District confer a Certificate of Recognition  on  the groups involved in securing a win for Mullingar Tidy Towns and Grange Community Centre on their win at the National Pride of Place Awards and to Clonmellon on being nominated for the final, as resolved by the Members of Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District Members at their June 2023 meeting.

2.    That Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District confer a Certificate of Recognition   on Daryl Gahan   to mark his gold medal winning performance for Team Ireland, and also for all local competitors at the Special Olympics, as resolved by the Members of Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District Members at their July 2023 meeting.

3.    That Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District confer a Certificate of Recognition   on   Aimee Wallace on her International debut in the 1500m Under 20 Race in Germany and indeed to all the Mullingar Harrier runners who have made their international debuts over the last few months and years, as resolved by the Members of Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District Members at their July 2023 meeting.

4.    That the Municipal District of  Athlone-Moate confer a Certificate of Recognition on the Athlone Special Olympics to mark the significant milestone of their twentieth anniversary, as  resolved by the  members of the Municipal District of Athlone-Moate at their July 2023 meeting.

5.    That the Municipal District of  Athlone-Moate confer a Certificate of Recognition on  Michael McDonnell (Viking Mike)   to mark the boat being 100 years old and Michael as it’s captain for 25 years, and to acknowledge the large contribution that the Viking boat has made to tourism in the Athlone area,  as  resolved by the members of the Municipal District of Athlone-Moate at their July 2023 meeting.
