Cllr Tom Farrell

“Ask Westmeath County Council to put a designated design team in place to drive the Active Travel programme  for Westmeath”.

Cllr. Denis Leonard

 “That where possible all Council Playgrounds be fitted with a wheelchair accessible swing and that they be examined for their general accessibility by children with all forms of disability. Further that Westmeath County  Council would work with local community groups who provide playground facilities in many of our towns and villages to ensure the maximum level of accessibility for all. “


10.    Recommendation(s) from Corporate Policy Group

  • That the Annual Meeting and June monthly meeting of Westmeath County Council be held in Athlone Chamber as a hybrid meeting, with a remote facility available for those who do not wish to attend in person.


11.    To receive reports and recommendations from SPC Chairpersons:

            •    To receive recommendation from Cllr Vinny McCormack, Chair of the Housing,   Community, Corporate and Culture SPC to invite the Private Rented Tenancy Board (PRTB) to make a presentation to the Council.

            •    To receive recommendation from Cllr John Shaw, Chair of the Economic, Enterprise and Tourism SPC in respect of funding proposals from the Economic Development and Promotion Fund as follows:

                            i.    Athlone Gift Card Initiative €5,000
                           ii.    ‘Moate is Open’ Campaign €2,500
                          iii.    ‘#Mullingar Matters’ branding and promotion €17,000
                         iv.    Mullingar and Athlone Chambers - Advance Approval €60,000
