You are requested to attend the June Monthly Meeting of Athlone Municipal District which will be held in the Civic Centre, Church Street, Athlone at 3.00p.m. Monday,

2. To approve the Minutes of the May Monthly Meeting held on 8th May 2018.

4. To receive presentation on RAPID Programme 2018

 

5. To note Cemetery Grants 2018

 

6. To consider and approve second tranche of Festival and Event Grants 2018

 

7. To consider and approve Community Grants for 2018

 

8. To note commencement of Part 8 Planning Process for flood defences at Deerpark

 

9. To consider Street Enhancement Plan for Moate

 

1. To receive report on the Taking in Charge of housing estates in the Athlone Municipal District

B   Cllr. Tom Farrell “Minister for Housing, Planning and Environment and Local Government to carry out a review on posters during referenda and elections in relation to content ad location of posters”

 

C Cllr. Tom Farrell  “Ask Westmeath Co Co. transport section for an update on the realignment project on the R 390 at Walderstown”

 

 D. Cllr. John Dolan “That  Athlone Municapal District discusses the local needs issue for planning permissions and to discuss the possibility to allow a percentage of planning applications without local need.”

 

E. Cllr. John Dolan “That Athlone Municipal District makes parking in St Francis Terrace residents only.”

 

F Cllr. John Dolan “That Athlone Municipal District repair and replace the broken and dangerous footpaths in Retreat Park.”

J.   Cllr. Frankie Keena “That Athlone Municipal District provide a continuous white line on the L1427 between Blyry and Annagortha Crossroads in the interest of public safety.”

 

K. Cllr. Frankie Keena “That this Municipal District clear the blocked watercourse that goes through the land called the Paddock which is beside the greenway on the Moyvoughley road, Moate.”

 

L. Cllr. Frankie Keena “Following the funding announcement for the Ireland 2040 plan I am calling on Athlone Municipal District to identify major infrastructural projects that would bring economic & social benefit to the area.”

 

M.  Cllr. Michael O’Brien “That Athlone Municipal District reduce the speed limit to 60kph on Moate to Mt Temple road L1437.”

 

N Cllr. Michael O’Brien “That Athlone Municipal District carry out a speed survey on the Clara Road, Moate”

 

O. Cllr. Michael O’Brien “That Athlone Municipal District discuss the possibility of a designated bathing area in the river Shannon.”

 

P.  Cllr. Paul Hogan “That Athlone Municipal District provide disability friendly equipment in Burgess Park playground.”

 

Q .Cllr. Paul Hogan “That Athlone Municipal District assist with cutting grass in Ardbrae Park.”

 

R.   Cllr. Paul Hogan: “That Athlone Municipal District provide deterrents to stop illegal dumping at the back of St Mary's Place.”

 

S. Cllr. Aengus O’Rourke  “For this Municipal District to remove the traffic calming chicane at Athlone Fire Station and to consider a different calming treatment to this section of road, if calming is still deemed to be necessary.”

 

T. Cllr. Aengus O’Rourke “For this Municipal District to develop street design plans for Irishtown & Sean Costello Street in keeping with the standard of work currently underway on Church Street and to explore ways of funding such a refurbishment project.” 

 

U. Cllr. Aengus O’Rourke “For this Municipal District to engage with the Chamber of Commerce to see if a business in Athlone might like to sponsor a feature piece of art which could be positioned in one of our expanded public realm areas.”
