You are requested to attend the April Monthly Meeting of Athlone Municipal District which will be held in the Civic Centre, Church Street, Athlone at 3.00p.m. Monday, 3rd April 2017.

 

AGENDA

  1. To approve the Minutes of March Monthly Meeting held on 6th March 2017.

 

  1. Matters arising.

 

  1. To receive a presentation from Athlone Training Centre.

 

  1. To receive a report on Proposed Part 8 for extension to Athlone Fire Station

 

  1. To receive a report on the operation of CCTV in Athlone Municipal District in 2016

 

  1. To Consider report on submissions for proposal to rename part of Grace Road to Elliot Road

 

  1. To receive an update on Strand Boardwalk Project

 

  1. To receive an update on the Acquisition of Lands for the Railway Field Road.

a)      Cllr. T. Farrell:

That Athlone Municipal District writes to the Minister for Education seeking university status for the A.I.T.

 

b)      Cllr. T. Farrell:

That Athlone Municipal District writes to the Minister requesting that the people of rural Ireland that are on Group Water Schemes/private connections are treated fairly in respect of any new water legislation that may be introduced.

 

c)      Cllr. T. Farrell:

That Athlone Municipal District to write to TII to improve signage and road markings and provide a feedback sign on N55 Ballykeeran

 

d)     Cllr J.Dolan:

That this Municipal District provides a speed ramp at Baylin National school

 

e)      Cllr.J.Dolan:

That this Municipal District considers providing a service area for visiting cruisers following the removal of the shed

 

f)       Cllr.J.Dolan:

That this Municipal District provide a ramped pedestrian crossing at the Dun na Si Amenity Park.

 

g)      Cllr.A.McManus:

That this Municipal District write to the Minister for Health with regard to the provision of a home help co- ordinator.

 

h)      Cllr.A.McManus:

That this Municipal District put in place a safety gate or barrier at Coosan Point as you enter the riverfront."

 

i)        Cllr.A.McManus:

That this Municipal District carry out immediate works to the Derries road in the interest of public safety"

 

j)        Cllr.M.O’Brien

That Athlone Municipal District restore the old footbridge at Moate Railway Station in the interest of historical preservation and greenway safety.

 

k)      Cllr.M.O’Brien

That Athlone Municipal District carry out road restoration works and provide public lighting at Creggan, Athlone

 

l)        Cllr.M.O’Brien

That Athlone Municipal District write to the Minister for the Environment asking him to bring forward a deposit and refund bottle system in the interest of promoting a cleaner environment.

 

m)    Cllr.F.Keena

That Athlone Municipal District provide a flashing slow down speed sign for  a trial period on the approach to Ballykeeran Village in the interest of public safety.

 

n)      Cllr.F.Keena

That Athlone Municipal District includes the Waterstown Road, Glasson off the N55 side on its road program

 

  • o)      Cllr.F.Keena: That Athlone Municipal District again consider designating an area of land around Rosemount village as an unserviced settlement.
