You are requested to attend the October Monthly Meeting of Athlone Municipal District which will be held in the Civic Centre, Church Street, Athlone at 3.00p.m. Monday, 3^rd October 2016.

“That this Municipal District provides an appropriate pedestrian crossing on the old Dublin Road near the entrance to Valleycourt in the interest of public safety”

b)  Cllr. F. Keena:

“That this Municipal District carries out a once off  lowering of the internal hedge in Hillcourt following a written request from their Residents Association”

c)  Cllr. F. Keena:

“That Athlone Municipal District provides a section of footpath in Garrycastle from the egress to the Garrycastle GAA Club eastwards to meet up with an existing footpath”

d)  Cllr. J. Dolan:

“That this Municipal District asks Westmeath County Council to ensure that the minimum residents grants for 2017 is €250”

e)  Cllr. J. Dolan:

“That this Municipal District extends the footpath from Ard Grainne to the GAA pitch and installs a pedestrian crossing at the pitch”

“That this Municipal District CPO the old shop in Castledaly”

“That Athlone Municipal District installs a railing along the footpath outside Athlone Mixed National School in Arcadia, in the interest of public safety”

“For Westmeath County Council to set aside a special maintenance fund in our 2017 budget to deal with wear, tear and general repair of our OAP housing stock”

“For Westmeath County Council to employ a County Architect to assist in the development of our Towns and County.  A creative professional with an eye to the future, pushing the boundaries and coming up with initiatives that will benefit the County at large” 

o)    Cllr. A. O’Rourke:

“For this Municipal District to make a strong submission to the Commission, soon to meet in relation to the future of Irish Water, and to the Minister with responsibility for Irish Water; to give back responsibility for the day to day maintenance of our water and sewerage services to the Local Authorities” 

p)    Cllr. A. McManus:

“That this Municipal District provides a designated time and space in the Library that facilitates children with ASD”

“That this municipal District put a plan in place to facilitate the future development of Coosan Graveyard”

r)    Cllr. A. McManus:

“That this Municipal District look a plan to solve the litter problem outside the clothing banks around the town”

“That Athlone Municipal District considers planting suitable material in appropriate areas to attract bees to create pollen”

“That Athlone Municipal District looks at creating a spur from the cycleway to the Hill of Uisneach”

“That Athlone Municipal District to assist Action Age Ireland, considers providing designated parking for the elderly in our public car parks”
