Council Civic Offices
The Civic Offices of Westmeath County Council in Mullingar, Athlone and Castlepollard will be closed to the public from 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 23 December 2025 and will re-open on Wednesday 31 December 2025 during the hours of 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
The offices will be closed to the public on Thursday, 1 January 2026 and reopen as normal to the public on Friday 2 January 2026 at 9.30 am.
Motor Tax/Cash Office
Motor Tax Offices and cash desks in Mullingar and Athlone will close at 1.00 p.m. on Tuesday 23 December 2025 and will re-open on Wednesday 31 December at 9.30am and close at 1.00pm to facilitate year end processing.
Motor Tax and Cash Offices in Mullingar and Athlone will be closed to the public on Thursday, 1 January 2026 and reopen as normal to the public on Friday 2 January 2026 at 9.30 am.
Westmeath Libraries
All Westmeath Libraries will be closed to the public from 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 23 December 2025 and will re-open on Wednesday 31 December 2025 during the hours of 9.40 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
All libraries will be closed on 1 January 2026. Normal opening hours will resume at 9.40am on Friday 2 January 2026.

Belvedere House Gardens & Park
Belvedere will be closed to the public from 3.00 p.m. on Tuesday 23 December 2025 and will re-open on Saturday 27 December 2025 at 9.30 a.m.
Belvedere will also remain closed to the public on New Year’s Eve and New Year's Day, Wednesday 31 December 2025 and 01 January 2026.
