WESTMEATH COUNTY COUNCIL (SEGREGATION, STORAGE AND PRESENTATION OF HOUSEHOLD AND COMMERCIAL WASTE) BYE-LAWS 2018
Westmeath County Council, pursuant to Section 35(1) of the Waste Management Act 1996 and Section 199(1) of the Local Government Act 2001 and in accordance with Part 19 of the Local Government Act 2001, proposes to make Bye-Laws for the purpose of regulating the segregation, storage and presentation of household and commercial waste.
It is proposed to make provision in the Bye-Laws for the imposition of a fixed payment of €75 in respect of a contravention of a Bye-Law as an alternative to a prosecution, as provided for in Section 206 of the Local Government Act 2001.
These bye-laws shall apply to the functional area of Westmeath County Council.
These bye-laws repeal the Waste Management (Storage, Presentation, Segregation and Collection of Household Waste) Bye-Laws dated 13th January 2010.

Public Inspection Point
The Draft Bye-Laws will be available for inspection during normal office hours Monday to Friday from Tuesday 30th October 2018 to Tuesday 27th November 2018 (both dates inclusive) at the following locations:
• Mullingar District Office, Áras an Chontae, Mullingar
• Athlone District Office, Civic Centre ,Church Street, Athlone
