Results of bathing water samples taken on Thursday 4th June indicate that The Cut, Lough Lene is experiencing elevated levels of bacteria resulting in ‘Poor’ water quality.

Due to this there is a temporary ‘Do Not Swim’ notice in place.

Westmeath County Council Environment Section staff have resampled the bathing area and results will be available on Tuesday 9th June
