Young Artists celebrate success in Road Safety Poster competition.
Westmeath Libraries were delighted to host the winners of the 2025 Road Safety Competition on Tuesday 16th December in Mullingar Library. The Road Safety Poster Competition is an initiative designed to raise awareness among children, spark discussion among families and support the principles of Vision Zero – the goal of eliminating serious injuries and fatalities on our roads.
The competition invited children to create eye catching posters promoting safer road use for everyone. Suggested themes included: Be safe , be seen, Cycle safety, Safe routes to school, Be aware, share the road and Make walking safe.
Clr. Aoife Davitt, Cathaoirleach of Westmeath County Council was joined by Westmeath County Council Road Safety Officer Colm Smith at the prizegiving ceremony. Clr. Davitt confirmed Westmeath County Council’s ongoing commitment to keeping road safety as a priority.
