Notice is hereby given that a contractor working on behalf of Westmeath County Council will be carrying out paving works at Market Square adjacent to Athlone Castle beginning on the 11th to the 20th of February 2026 inclusive.
To facilitate these works it will be necessary to close the southern footpath on the Athlone Town Bridge(R446) and the footpaths adjacent to Athlone Castle to facilitate these works.
Dates & times to be closed:
11th February 2026 to the 20th February 2026. 24 hours daily.
Alternative pedestrian routes will be signposted.
