Puppet Show at Athlone Castle

Puppet Show Athlone Castle

To celebrate Cruinniú na nÓg, Athlone Castle Visitor Centre will stage an entertaining and engaging ‘Medieval Puppet Show’ through collaboration with Custard Pie Puppets and their renowned ‘Punch and Judy’ performance. The traditional ‘Punch and Judy’ puppet show has its origins in the medieval period, and is still popular with children of all ages today. Athlone Castle will take the opportunity to present this medieval performance to a new generation of children, educating them on the origin and preservation of a medieval tradition while entertaining them with a fun, colourful, and interactive theatrical experience!

Custard Pie Puppets will perform their Punch and Judy Puppet Show at three separate periods throughout the day of Cruinniú na nÓg – at 1.30pm, 3pm, and at 4pm on Saturday 15th June.
