Proposed provision of Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge at Saunders Bridge, Mullingar, adjacent to Ardmore Road.
Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council proposes to undertake the following works:
Provision of a pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Royal Canal and Dublin to Sligo Railway, at Saunders Bridge adjacent to the Ardmore Road, Mullingar. The proposed scheme includes a suspended bridge deck and landing, bridge support structure, approach walkways / cycle ways, revised landscape area, cycle balustrades and ancillary works. The bridge will have a span of 40m and will be 3m wide.
The proposed development is located adjacent to two number Protected Structures, namely, Canal Bridge - Saunder's Bridge (RPS 019-093 refers) and Railway Bridge -Saunder's Bridge (RPS 019-094 refers).
The proposed scheme has undergone Appropriate Assessment Screening under the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and screening for Environmental Impact Assessment under the EIA Directive 2014/52/EU. It has been determined, following a preliminary examination, that there will be no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment, arising from the proposed development, and therefore an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required. Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the proposed development would be likely to have a significant effect on the environment.
Plans and Particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection, or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at the following locations:
Written submissions or observations in relation to the proposed development should be made via email to email@example.com and titled “Proposed pedestrian / cycle bridge at Ardmore Road, Mullingar”, from 27th April 2019 to Wednesday 26th June 2019 inclusive.
Written submissions or observations in relation to the proposed development, clearly marked “Proposed pedestrian / cycle bridge at Ardmore Road, Mullingar”, may also be submitted to SEO, Mullingar Municipal District Office, Westmeath County Council, Aras an Chontae, Mullingar to arrive not later than 5.00 p.m. on Wednesday 26th June 2019.
Only submissions received by Wednesday 26th June and addressed as set out above, will be considered. Submissions cannot be accepted in any other format or to any other postal address. All submissions should include your name and a contact address, and where relevant, details of any organisation, community group or company etc., which you represent (you are asked not to share any other personal information). To assist Westmeath County Council in complying with data protection legislation, you are asked to provide this information on a separate sheet.
Written submissions or observations received will form part of a statutory report to be presented to a meeting of Westmeath County Council and also will form part of a public document. The information contained in submissions may be available for public inspection, to be published on the Councils website and available at the Council’s public counter. Details, including the names of those making submissions may be shared with relevant Council Departments or their agents involved in this Part 8 process.
