ROADS ACT, 1993

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council having given the required notice of intention has now decided to temporarily CLOSE to public traffic the following roads for the period and reason specified below. 

Road subject of proposed closure

L-1136, Upper part of Mount Street from junction with Church Lane/Blackhall Street to Pearse Street, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath

Alternative Routes/Detour:

Northbound West: Bleachyard – Grove Street, Blackhall Place – Dominick Street

Northbound East: Sundays Well Road, Millmount, Austin Friars Street

This road shall be closed from 10.30am on Friday the 12^th December 2025 and will reopen at 1am on Monday the 15^th December 2025.

Detour signage will be in place.

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Mullingar Winterfest 2025.
