Culture Night in Mullingar marks the launch of Westmeath’s EU Presidency Cultural Programme 2026, Imagining Common Grounds. Celebrating Westmeath’s rich artistic, musical and cultural heritage, the programme will feature exhibitions, workshops, traditional music, dance and community participation, connecting local stories and landscapes with wider European conversations.

Join the free Culture Night events on 18 September, with live performances in Market Square, exhibitions by local artists Emma O'Brien and Emer Gaffey, and family-friendly creative workshops. This is the beginning of a countywide cultural programme that will continue throughout autumn 2026, showcasing the best of Westmeath from the Midlands to Europe.
