Honouring Our Shared Heritage: Argentine Ambassador to Visit Mullingar

Mullingar is set to welcome a very special guest as Her Excellency Ana Laura Cachaza, Ambassador of Argentina, visits Mullingar Library to celebrate the completion of the Argentina Emigration Oral History Project.

This unique heritage project has captured powerful, personal stories from local families whose roots stretch from the heartlands of Westmeath and Longford all the way to Argentina. Through recorded conversations, memories once shared only around kitchen tables are now preserved as part of our shared history.

On the day participants will receive copies of their interviews, while the recordings will be safely archived in the library for future generations
