Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council having given the required notice of intention has now decided to temporarily CLOSE to public traffic the following roads for the period and reason specified below.

To facilitate drainage works on the L-1801.

 

5pm on the 2nd August 2023.

This is a 24hr closure.

Mullingar

Notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council having given the required notice of intention has now decided to temporarily CLOSE the following roads to public traffic. 

To facilitate Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023 in Mullingar

from 10.00am on Sunday 6th August until 4am on Tuesday 15th August 2023.

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council having given the required notice of intention has now decided to temporarily CLOSE to public traffic the following roads for the period and reason specified below.  

To facilitate the running of ALMC Motor Club – Hellfire Rally – Motor Stage Rally event under the governance of Motorsport Ireland.

These roads shall be closed on the 13th August 2023 from 10.30am to 7.20pm.

L5008 - Located off the R446 3.2km east of Milltownpass

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council having given the required notice of intention has now decided to temporarily CLOSE to public traffic the following roads for the period
and reason specified below.

  • L5008 – Located off the R446 3.2km east of Milltownpass.

Road widening works required as part of the Clonfad Solar Farm construction.

This road shall be closed from 7am on Monday 21st August to 6pm on Sunday 27th August, 2023.

This is a daily road closure.

L-1001-0 Harbour Street, Mullingar

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council having given the required notice of intention has now decided to temporarily CLOSE to public traffic the following roads for the period and reason specified below.

To facilitate a sewerage connection for Omniplex cinema.

6pm on the 19th August 2023.

Carrick O’Brien Road L8006-0

Notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council intends to close to public traffic the road described hereunder for a four-week period between Monday 3rd July 2023 and Friday 29th September 2023 to facilitate the construction of flood defences in Athlone, Co Westmeath.

Alternative Routes Available:

Alternative access will be via the L4012 John Broderick Street, R446 Old Dublin Road, N62 Birr Road, L5410 Clonbonny road, L5411 Clonbonny road and the L5142 Carrick O’Brien road and vice versa.

All diversions will be signposted.

The public road, the L-5805 is being closed from today for approximately 7 days, to facilitate emergency repair works to the damaged parapet wall of Walshe’s Bridge on the Royal Canal.

The road will be closed from 8am to 5pm daily. Local diversions will be in place.

WCC and Waterways Ireland apologise for any inconvenience caused during the period of essential work.

 
Mardyke Street, adjacent to R915 and R446

To facilitate Athlone Town Centre Public Realm Enhancement works at Mardyke Street.

Westbound traffic will be diverted South on R915 and diverted West on R446.

Diversion routes will be signposted.
