Provision of a pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Royal Canal and Dublin to Sligo Railway, at Saunders Bridge adjacent to Ardmore Road, Mullingar. The proposed scheme includes a suspended bridge deck and landing, bridge support structure, approach walkways /cycle ways, revised landscape area, cycle balustrades and ancillary works. The bridge will have a span of 40m and will be 3m wide. The proposed development is located adjacent to two number Protected Structures, namely Canal Bridge Saunders Bridge (RPS 019-093) refers and Railway Bridge – Saunders Bridge (RPS 019-094) refers.
The proposed scheme has undergone Appropriate Assessment Screening under the Habitats Directive(92/43/EEC) and screening for Environmental Impact Assessment under the EIA Directive 2014/52/EU. It has been determined, following a preliminary examination, that there will be no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment, arising from the proposed development, and therefore an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required, Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice , can apply to An Bord Pleanala for a screening determination as to whether the proposed development would be likely to have a significant effect on the environment.
Plans and Particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at: Westmeath County Council Offices, County Buildings, Mullingar, during office hours each day, excluding weekends and bank holidays, from 27th April 2019 up to and including Wednesday 12th June 2019

Written submissions or observations received will form part of a statutory report to be presented to a meeting of Westmeath County Council and also form part of a public document. The information contained in submissions may be available for public inspection, to be published on the Council’s website and available at the Council’s public counter.
