Proposed Works

The construction of embankments (circa 900m), road raising (circa 1350m2) and flood walls/ barriers (750m) on the West side of the River Shannon from the Lock Gates to Shamrock Lodge/ West Lodge. The proposed works also include the construction of a new bridge over the existing canal bridge at the junction of Deerpark Rd and Clonown Rd and culverting of short sections of existing drainage channels.

Plans and particulars of this development are available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, during office hours (9.00am to 4.00pm) at the offices of Westmeath County Council, Athlone Municipal District, Athlone Civic Centre, Athlone, N37 P2T5 excluding weekends and Bank Holidays commencing on Thursday 19th July 2018 up to and including Thursday 16th August, 2018.
