Little Library Book Bag

My Little Library Book Bag available for all children starting school

Westmeath Libraries is delighted to be part of the My Little Library Book Bag initiative. Starting school can be both scary and exciting so your local library is here to help children starting school by providing  a free  bag of books. This initiative is for children who are taking the big step of starting school in 2022.

The ‘My Little Library Book Bag’ initiative is a collaboration between libraries and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth as part of the First 5 Strategy.

We look forward to meeting children and their parents or guardians as they  collect their bags at any Westmeath Library and we hope that our new library members and their families will come back regularly to keep their bag full of books and to take part in library storytimes and activities.

Also available are the following leaflets from the Dept of Education offer assistance in helping support the transition from Pre school.
