3. Story Competition: As well an enjoying the amazing worlds of books, Summer Stars is also celebrating children’s imaginations by running a short story competition, An Unexpected Adventure. There are three age categories with great prizes for all the winners and runners-up.

4. Books: Westmeath Libraries is offering a Call&Collect Service in all libraries to support our young readers. We are also supporting browsing services in Athlone, Castlepollard, Kilbeggan, Moate and Mullingar Libraries. Social distancing restrictions are in place. When visiting the library, please practice good hand hygiene and be considerate of others so that everyone can enjoy their visit safely.

5. Online Resources: Follow our Westmeath Libraries facebook page as we will share lots of quizzes, activities and reading guides throughout the summer as part of Summer Stars online 2020.

6. Reading cards and reviews: Children can track their reading progress with reading cards (printable version below) which can be marked each time a book is read, online or in print form. You can leave a review on summerstars.ie so why not let people know which book you would give a thumbs up to.
