Westmeath County Council continues to operate the Rates Grant Scheme in 2026 but the grant available has been increased.

To assist ratepayers with the payment of their rates bill a grant of 15% of the rates bill for 2026 is available, up to a maximum amount of €825. To be eligible for the grant, the ratepayer must pay their 2026 rates bill before the end of 2026.

Businesses with a rates bill of €5,500 or less are eligible for this grant.

Westmeath County Council encourages customers to pay the rates owed less the 15% deductible and they will automatically make the necessary adjustment to their account.
