Westmeath Sports Partnership encourages and supports participation in sport and physical activity by providing information and training and by organising activities and programmes, either directly, or in partnership with other individuals, groups, clubs and partner agencies.
We develop, co-ordinate, and facilitate these directly or in partnership with other individuals, groups, clubs and partner agencies and encourage groups to take responsibility for these projects and activities so that they can be self-sustaining
Westmeath Sports Partnership’s key aims are to increase participation in sport and physical recreation and to ensure that local resources are used to best effect.
We have a special focus on helping key groups get more involved in sporting activities.
- Young people and youth at risk
- People with a Disability
- Women and teenage girls
- Older Adults
- Disadvantaged people
- Ethnic Minority groups
We are core funded and supported by Sport Ireland as well as range of National Governing Bodies and one of 29 Local Sports partnerships across the country.
We are based at the offices of Westmeath County Council and we can be contacted via email, telephone or via social media.
