Westmeath Public Participation Network (WPPN) is the recognised voice for the Community & Voluntary Sector in Westmeath in matters relating to Westmeath County Council and its related structures. A new framework for public engagement and participation in local government was introduced in 2014 called the Public Participation Network (PPN).

Westmeath PPN has been very active in recent times. A very succesful Plenary was held on the 15th November 2023 with a record attendance of over one hundred people with twelve stands on that day. There were excellent speakers from SICAP ( Social Inclusion Activation Program), The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, Mental Health Association, Age Friendly, Healthy Westmeath, An Garda Síochána and Rights of Nature.
Our delegates recently presented the submissions to Mullingar-Kinnegad and Athlone-Moate Municipal District. They were warmly received by the Councillors and we look forward to many actions being carried out on top of them. The equivalent presentation to Mullingar District will be taking place shortly. Preparations are well underway. |
