Youth Work Ireland Midlands

‘Here4U’ Listening Service‌

The Programme aims to engage 50 young people aged 15+ years from across Co. Westmeath in a safe, youth led space supported by a professional and experienced Youth Worker.

The programme will be delivered in schools and in the community, the setting will be led by the preference of the young person.

Monitoring and Evaluation

The project will be monitored using the existing Youth Work Ireland Midlands structures, these structures have been quality tested continuously and are reviewed and updated as required in line with best practice.

Outcomes, performance indicators, evidence etc. is clearly outlined in the Logic Model. A logic model file is developed for all programmes delivered. All contact with young people is recorded and all scheduled youth activity is planned and evaluated on an ongoing basis by staff and young people. Monthly Reports are submitted to the Management Team who report to the Board of Trustees of Youth Work Ireland Midlands.  Financial management is accountable and transparent and meets all requirements of Service Level Agreements of funders.

Supervision and support is scheduled as part of the delivery of this programme in the school / community setting.  All youth workers delivering this programme are supported by 2 Trained Here4U Supervisors, both of whom have completed training with Relationships Ireland and 1 of whom has a Counselling & Psychotherapy Diploma.  We have access to Counselling Service in both Offaly and Westmeath through partner groups and past referral cases.

 

The Supervision Policy for Here4 is as follows:
Supervision will provide a platform for the Here4U worker to process the impact of the work upon themselves.  It will also ensure that there is an overall response to the needs for:

  1. Young people – so that their needs to feel safe and cared for are attended to.
  2. Employees in order that they are supported and developed
  3. The organisation’s requirement to ensure best practice and staff accountability.

Ultimately, the goal of supervision will be to ensure that the supervisor will receive clarification and direction in a professional capacity that will continue best practice.
