The Aidan Heavey Library enjoys a town centre location as part of the award winning Civic Offices built in 2004. This modern purpose-built facility replaces the old library which had been housed in the Fr. Mathew Hall, Athlone since 1949.

Range of large print books and books on tape.
Collections of material for people learning to read.
Platform lift to the childrens library /local studies room.
T-loop system for those with hearing aids
CCTV magnifying system for those who find it difficult to read small print.
Computer packages which will allow people who have difficulty reading to scan text and then listen to it.
