Serving as a retained firefighter requires dedication and strong commitment to the welfare of your community.

To become a firefighter you need to be:
- Over the age of 18
- To be in good health and to have perfect eyesight
- Must live & work within a reasonable distance of the Fire Station (not greater than 1.6km) where you wish to serve
- As part of the interview process, verbal & written skills will be tested as will physical ability to ascend ladders and to work in confined spaces
- A medical examination is required before appointment
