Mission Statement

Our Aim is to protect life, property and the environment by the efficient and effective prevention and control of fires and other emergencies including major emergencies.

Overview

Westmeath County Council Fire Authority controls 3 brigades within the county (Mullingar, Castlepollard and Kilbeggan).

Athlone Brigade is controlled through Athlone Town Council, which is a separate fire authority under the Fire Services Act (1981)

Across the county, all 4 brigades respond annually to approx. 1,100 incidents ranging in severity from chimney fires to house fires as well as increasing numbers of Road Traffic Collisions.
