Public Sector Pay Agreements

Public Sector Pay Agreements have in the past linked the phased payment of pay increases to the delivery of specific outcomes associated with the public sector reform programme.  Each individual sector was obliged to submit progress reports at regular intervals as part of a  performance verification process.  Copies of the progress reports submitted by Westmeath County Council are contained below.  The current Public Service Agreement 2010-2014, while not containing a pay element, requires progress reports to be made on savings, and efficiencies achieved, in the interests of achieving an overall reduction in public spending necessary to stabilise the finances of the economy.
