Westmeath County Council Corporate Plan
In accordance with Section 134 of the Local Government Act 2001, each Local Authority must adopt a Corporate Plan within six months of the election of a new Council. In the most recent instance, Westmeath County Council adopted its Corporate Plan for the period 2010-2014 in December 2010.
The five year Corporate Plan is a road map setting out the strategic intent of the organisation for the five year period, including it’s mission statement, fundamental objectives and priorities for each of its principal activities, and the strategies to be pursued in an effort to achieve these objectives. The Plan also sets out an implementation framework, including details for annual reporting and appraisal. The Plan is the foundation upon which annual work plans are developed at an organisation level, which in turn form the basis of team plans, and individual personal development plans matching organisational objectives.
