The Strand, Athlone will be closed to traffic from its junction with Friary Lane to its junction with Griffith Street until Friday 24 March to facilitate the ongoing works being undertaken by The OPW on behalf of Westmeath County Council. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
To maintain local access for the residents of Griffith Street and Wolfe Tone Terrace, the one-way system on Griffith Street will be suspended for the duration of the works and a two-way temporary traffic management system will be in operation. Westmeath County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.
