WESTMEATH COUNTY COUNCIL ANNOUNCES BLACKHALL REGENERATION CONSULTATION
Westmeath County Council has announced the start of a consultation process regarding the regeneration of lands at Blackhall Place Mullingar. This initial consultation is part of the preparation of a Masterplan funded by the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF) which is provided to support sustainable development, as set out in Project Ireland 2040. Westmeath County Council have engaged Savills consultants to prepare a Masterplan to guide the regeneration of the area. The Masterplan is intended to shape the future development of the area and to deliver the positive regeneration and transformation of Blackhall Place by creating a highly sustainable new urban quarter that supports economic, social and community development by capitalising upon its strategic town centre location.
As part of this process, Westmeath County Council is inviting all stakeholders and interested parties including residents, retailers and businesses as well as community and sporting groups to get involved in the process and express their views and aspirations for the area to help shape and inform the Blackhall Place Masterplan. To facilitate this engagement, Westmeath County Council is launching an online survey at www.blackhallplace.com on Tuesday 20th July 2021. The survey will close on Tuesday 3rd August 2021.
Westmeath County Council are delighted to launch this community consultation, which provides an opportunity for residents and local businesses to have their say on what will make the Blackhall Regeneration Project a great place to live, work and visit.
A dedicated information event will be held on Wednesday 28th July 2021 at 6pm to discuss the project. Considering current public health restrictions, due to COVID -19, this session will take place digitally, via Zoom.
