A number of Status Yellow Low temperature, Ice and Snow warnings have issued from Met Éireann for Westmeath over the coming days as sleet and snow is forecast later tonight and throughout tomorrow which will be accompanied by very low temperatures. This will lead to hazardous travelling conditions with poor visibility, especially on untreated roads and paths over the coming days.

During the adverse weather, we would like to remind everyone of the following:
1. In hazardous driving conditions please slow down and be aware of other roads users, allow extra time and drive with caution
2. Slips trip and falls are a hazard
3. Please check on vulnerable and isolated neighbours
4. Please keep your phone charged and take it with you on all journeys/ in an emergency dial 999 or 112
