Status Yellow Low Temperature and Ice Warning

A Status YellowLow temperature and ice warning has issued from Met Eireann for Westmeath and will come into effect from 19:00 Wednesday 18/01/2023 to 12:00 Thursday 19/01/2023.

Check out www.met.ie for further details.

Widespread severe frost with wintry showers are forecast for tonight with temperatures across the county expected to reach a low of -4 degrees. As there is already lying snow in many places, this will lead to hazardous travelling conditions, especially on untreated roads and paths.

Our gritting crews will continue to work throughout the evening and night as necessary treating our priority routes.

For driving advice in snow and icy conditions please visit www.winterready.ie.
