Shaping the Future of Transport in Mullingar

Westmeath County Council would like your views to help shape the future of transport options in Mullingar.

Mullingar’s population is targeted to grow by 12% between 2021 and 2027. The Council is working to develop a transport strategy to support this growth and address existing transport issues in the town.

SYSTRA Ltd, in association with J.B. Barry Transportation and PlaceChangers Ltd, have therefore been commissioned to assist the Council in developing an Area Based Transport Assessment (ABTA) for Mullingar town.

This study seeks to understand how local residents, students, workers and visitors currently travel to and around Mullingar. The Study also seeks to identify what would make it easier for people to access the education, employment and leisure opportunities that Mullingar offers on foot, by bike, by public transport and by car as the town grows and develops over the next 20 years.
