Road Safety Update

Road temperatures across the county are expected to go as low as minus 4 degrees tonight as a Status Orange Freezing Fog Warning and Status Yellow Low Temperature and Ice warning remain in place across the county. Freezing fog with a widespread severe frost is also forecast and this will  lead to hazardous driving conditions. Our gritting crews will be treating our priority routes again from this evening and throughout the night.

If you have to travel by road, please exercise extreme caution and check out our Winter Services Gritting Route Map for the County at the following to plan your journey: http://www.westmeathcoco.ie/en/ourservices/roadsparkingandtransport/wintergritting/

Please check on vulnerable and isolated neighbours
