Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council, having given the required notice of intention, has now decided to temporarily close to public traffic the following roads for the period and reason specified below: -
Westmeath County Council intends to temporarily close ramps at M4 and M6 Motorway Junctions as follows -
- For 1 night - 21 June with a backup of 22 June 2021 between the hours of 22:00hrs and 06:00hrs
Diversion route via M6 westbound to Junction 3 Rochfordbridge, turn at junction and return on M6 eastbound to Junction 2
NOTE: it is intended to close the M4 Junction 8 Westbound off-slip on the same night with a signed diversion via Maynooth all within County Kildare.
- For 1 night - 23 June with a backup of 24 June 2021 between the hours of 22:00hrs and 06:00hrs
Diversion route via M4 Junction 13 Mary Lynch’s, link road, unclassified road towards Killucan, R148 to Kinnegad, R161 and R446
NOTE: it is intended to close the M4 Junction 8 Westbound on-slip on the same night with a signed diversion via R148 within Counties Kildare and Meath.
- For 1 night - 24 June with a backup of 25 June 2021 between the hours of 22:00hrs and 06:00hrs
Diversion route via R446, R161, R148, unclassified road, link road, M4 Junction 13 Mary Lynch’s.
NOTE: it is intended to close the M4 Junction 9 Eastbound on-slip on the same night with a signed diversion via R148 within Counties Meath and Kildare.
These road closures are required to facilitate the replacement of filter drain material.
Diversion and information signage will be in place.
Access for residents and property holders will be facilitated throughout the closure period.
