As winter approaches, weather conditions get worse and daylight hours shorten but people still have to travel for work, school, and recreation. As such Westmeath County Council Road Safety Office and Westmeath Libraries want to encourage families and schools to talk about road safety through a road safety poster competition.
National school children are encouraged to design a road safety awareness poster (maximum A3 size) with suggested themes such as:
Children can enter in the following categories: Age 4-7, 8-10, 11-13
Entries can be returned to your local Westmeath Library by Friday 17 November.
Remember a conversation with family or friends about road safety can make all the difference - it can kick start new habits, it can encourage everyone to think about their behaviour on the roads and it can affirm that everyone can play their part in the journey to make our roads safer.
