Contract Signing between Westmeath County Council and Coolsivna Construction Group Ltd

62 New Homes at

4 Individual Sites in

County Westmeath

Contracts were signed between Westmeath County Council and Coolsivna Construction Group Ltd for the design and build of 62 homes, associated parking, public open space, and site development works at 4 individual sites namely:

  1. 8 homes at Water Street, Castlepollard
  2. 22 homes at St Bridget’s Green
  3. 15 homes, adjacent to Ennell Court, Mullingar
  4. 17 homes at Robinstown Road, Mullingar

Construction is due to commence in November 2023. The project is being delivered under “Housing for All” and will provide 62 new homes. The development at Water Street, Castlepollard consists of 8 no. single storey houses. The development at St. Bridget’s Green, Mullingar, adjacent to Ashfield, consists of 14 no. single storey houses and 8 no. apartments. The development adjacent to Ennell Court consists to 15 no. single storey houses. The development at Robinstown Road, adjacent to Dalton Park, consists of 17 no. one and two- bedroom apartments. 50 of these new homes are designed to Universal Design Standards and are suitable for older persons.

All houses will be designed to nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) standard and will use the latest Air-to-Water heating technology.

The main contractor for the project is Coolsivna Construction who are based in Galway won the contract by public competitive tender process. All homes are designed by Westmeath County Council’s In-House Architectural Team with the assistance of McMahon Associates Consulting Engineers, McGahon Surveyors Quantity Surveyors and T5 Partnership, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.
