Notice is hereby given that Meath County Council and Westmeath County Council intends to close the N51 from Ballinn Co. Westmeath to Higginstown Co. Meath between its junction with the L5512 Co. Westmeath and its junction with the L8007 Co. Meath.
This closure is required to facilitate resurfacing works from Ballinn Co. Westmeath to Higginstown Co. Meath.
The temporary closure will involve 2 periods
The proposed closure will be from 8.00am to 6.00pm each day from Monday 8th November to Friday 26th November 2021 (3-week closure excluding Saturdays and Sundays).
The proposed closure will be for a 3-week period between the dates of Monday 14th February to Friday 1st April 2022, 8.00am to 6.00pm each day, (3-week closure excluding Saturdays and Sundays).
In Athboy, turn right onto R154 and travel for a distance of 6.8km. At the R154/N52 junction turn left onto N52 sign posted Delvin. Travel along the N52 for a distance of 12.2km returning back to the N51/N52 junction in Delvin.
In Delvin continue on the N52 for a distance of 12.2km to its junction with the R154. Turn right onto R154 sign posted Athboy. Travel for a distance of 6.8km returning back to the R154/N51 junction in Athboy.
Diversion signs will be in place.
