ROADS ACT, 1993 TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council having given the required notice of intention has now decided to temporarily close to public traffic the following roads for the period and reason specified below: -

To close to through traffic a section of the National road network as described hereunder to facilitate transverse ducting works. The closure shall be during the period Monday 31st of May to Friday 9th July 2021.

Roads to be Closed:

• N4 Eastbound between the off-slip and on-slip at Junction 17.
• N4 East and Westbound between the off-slip and on-slip at Junction 15.
• N4 East and Westbound between the off-slip and on-slip at Junction 16.
• N4 Junction 15 Eastbound on-slip.

Each section above shall be closed between 06:00 and 20:00, for no more than 2 days per direction.

• N4 Westbound between the off-slip and on-slip at Junction 17.

This section shall be closed between 06:00 and 20:00, for no more than 4 days and 5 nights.

Alternative Routes:

• N4 Mainline Diversion – Traffic will be diverted on the off-slip at the junction where drivers will then be able to rejoin the N4 using the on-slip (Up and Over Diversion).
• N4 Junction 15 Eastbound Diversion – Traffic will be diverted westbound on the N4 and exit at Junction 16, where drivers will be diverted back onto the N4 Eastbound.
