General Election 2020

The Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government has signed the Polling Day Order fixing 8 February 2020 as the day for taking the poll at the General Election.

Polls will be open between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm.

Every person who is an Irish or British citizen and is included in the Register of Electors is entitled to vote at the General Election.

You may check if you are registered to vote on www.checktheregister.ie or by contacting the Franchise Section on 044 933 2000 or via register@westmeathcoco.ie

If you are not registered to vote, the following deadlines apply:

The closing date for the Supplement to the Register of Electors is Wednesday 22 January 2020.

The closing date for the Supplement to the Postal Voters and Special Voters Lists is Thursday 16 January 2020.
