Clonown (L8009 & L8010) Road Closure - Athlone

As previously advertised Westmeath County Council will close to public traffic the L8009 & L8010 Clonown road, Athlone periodically between 25th April 2022 and 31st December 2022 to facilitate the construction of flood defences in Athlone, Co Westmeath.

The Proposed diversion route previously advertised has been amended as follows:

Diversion will be via the L2034 (Togher Road, Co. Roscommon), R446 (Old Galway Road), L4013 (Magazine Road), L8008 (Canal Banks), L8011 (Deerpark Road) and vice versa. Diversions will be sign posted. The road remains closed for the duration of the works and no acccess at weekends will be possible for traffic or pedestrians.
