Westmeath County Council  has applied under section 51 of the Roads Acts 1993-2015  to An Bord Pleanala  for approval in relation to a proposed road development comprising inter alia:

• The construction of a pedestrian and cycleway bridge approximately 104m long with a central pier, crossing the River Shannon.
• All associated ancillary and consequential works;
