Westmeath County Development Plan Review

Westmeath County Council commenced the review of the existing Development Plan and the preparation of the new County Development Plan 2014-2020 on 22nd February 2012. This Plan-making process must be completed within two years - by February 2014. The initial stage of this process is the pre-draft public consultation phase which will inform the content of the Draft County Development Plan. Public Participation at this stage in the review process is critically important. You are encouraged to be part of the plan-making process by viewing the published Issues Papers and making a submission.

What is a Development Plan?

The Development Plan sets out the overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development for the County for a period of 6 years.

Pre-draft Public Consultation

Public participation is an essential element in the preparation of the Westmeath County Development Plan 2014-2020.

Draft County Development Plan 2014-2020

The Draft County Development Plan 2014-2020 has been prepared and is on public display from Friday 1st February 2013 to Friday 12th April 2013 inclusive.

Mullingar Local Area Plan 2014-2020

Westmeath County Council has commenced the review of the existing Mullingar Town Development Plan and the preparation of the Mullingar Local Area Plan 2014-2020.
