The proposed development will consisted of alterations and reconstruction to the existing two storey building at "Church View", Bishop's Gate Street, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, previously in use as offices by Westmeath County Council, to accommodate 2 no. Two bedroom apartments. The proposed development includes the demolition of extensions to the rear and west side of building, demolition of sheds and boundary walls and the construction of a new stairwell, first floor access and balcony to the west side of the existing building at Downe's Lane. Proposed works include replacement of existing windows and doors, removal of modern door case, changes to existing openings, replacement/repair of existing roof where required, internal alterations, railings and site development works. It is also proposed to construct 2 no. single-storey two bedroom semidetached dwellings on Downe's Lane, to the rear of the existing building on Bishop's Gate Street. The works include the partial demolition of the existing wall to the East of the site. Associated site works include foul, surface water drains, services, boundary walls, footpaths, roadway/ open space and parking. The existing building, "Church View" is contained on the Record of Protected Structures, 019-169, under the Westmeath County Development Plan 2014-2020.
