There are 49 Bring Banks in County Westmeath where glass, aluminium cans and textiles can be recycled free of charge.
Most bring banks are open 24 hours. But please don’t use glass banks during the night as the noise may disturb local residents.
Bring banks have up to 3 types of recycling containers. What you can bring depends the containers on site.
Glass banks: You can recycle glass bottles and jars. Separate them by colour – clear, green and brown. Please don’t put in ceramics, window glass, pyrex cookware or drinking glasses. They’re made of a different type of glass and will contaminate all other items in the container
Can banks: You can recycle drinking cans. Please crush the cans so we can fit more in the container.
Textile banks: You can recycle clothes that are in good condition. Please don’t put in duvets or pillows.
