Climate change is the long-term change in weather patterns in a region caused by natural or human influence or both. Some of the effects of climate change we have been seeing in Ireland include extreme weather events, from droughts to flooding, as well as the gradual increase in average temperature. This has had drastic effects on humans across the globe but the main effect we see in Ireland has been in our agricultural system particularly with tillage farmers struggling to produce the same quality and quantity of crops as in previous years.
We can stop and eventually reverse the effects of climate change by taking positive climate action! Read more below on how you, your community and your local authority can make a change for our future.
